Oh hey, little blog.. I'm back! Sorry about that. I realise that wasn't the longest hiatus in history -- only five short weeks, in fact, though it feels to me like a lot more time has passed. They've been an odd few weeks and much has taken place. I spent four of them in Glasgow and the fifth at home trying to settle back in.. though 'settled' isn't something I've been feeling all that much.
My reasons for being in Glasgow were strange and a little bit dull. I won't go into them. But being there allowed me to reconnect with a city that I very much love and that's an aspect I would like to share!
With that being said, here's some of what I got up to in that month, as seen through my iPhone lens...

I spent a lot of time in Queen's Park, walking the beautifully kept trails, visiting the Glasshouse and its reptile collection, admiring the
pond and Scottish Poetry Rose Garden and taking in the city views from the top of the hill. I even managed to fit in a couple of jogs,
running with other people for the first time since high school!

I rediscovered some old favourite haunts including the Gallery of Modern Art, Mr Ben's vintage clothes shop, and the vegan
restaurant-come-record store wonder that is Mono.

I did a spot of learning, some reading, a fair bit of writing and an embarrassing amount of colouring-in!
I discovered Tempo Tea Bar and sampled multiple flavours of delicious bubble tea. Yum!
I visited the town of Balloch on the shores of Loch Lomond; Glasgow Green; Pollok Park; and the very impressive Burrell Collection.
I got to hang out with these two kindhearted beauties.
I turned 26 and spent the weekend feeling decidedly rubbish but celebrating with my parents by eating good food in vast quantities.
I spent a very warm afternoon basking in the sunshine in the Botanic Gardens, eating yummy ice-cream.
And I wiled away a number of hours just enjoying the buzz of a city readying itself to host the Commonwealth Games!
As always, Glasgow was incredibly kind to me. But then again.. I wouldn't expect anything less!
I hope the last five weeks have been good to all of you. I'm pretty far behind in all my blog-reading lists and trying not to spend too much time in front of the computer screen, but I look forward to catching up on everyone's news in the weeks ahead.

So happy to see a post from you, and see that you had some sunny moments in Glasgow. I've never been to Balloch but was thinking of taking my daughter there. Is it a nice place? Is the photo of the pier in Balloch? She might also like Mr. Ben's and Mono - I will have a look at those links. Your colouring is very beautiful. I have lots of colouring books and some nice pens and pencils, but rarely make the time to do it. Yet, when I do, it feels so peaceful...

To be honest, we spent most of our visit sitting in a pub garden in the sunshine, but the walk along the side of Loch Lomond (where the pier photo was taken, yes) and through the park is very pretty! I've heard good things about the wee aquarium too, although I've never been.
